Sad Day

So this is my last semester at BYU Idaho. Since I transferred up here with a lot of credits and started a brand new major, I've had to jump through a whole lot of hoops in order to stay in school and get financial aid while doing so. I've had to fill out one petition or another just about every semester. The main thing I've had to do the last few semesters has been to petition for them to disperse my financial aid. I have to fill out this petition, go to my advisor's office and fill out a paper saying all of the classes I am planning to take for each semester until I graduate, get that to the financial aid office, and then wait for them to tell me if my classes are right or not and that determines whether I actually get financial aid.

This semester I signed up for 15.5 credits even though I knew I only needed 9.5 to graduate - because the school is weird about not giving aid to anyone who takes less than 14 credits. I signed up for 2 art classes that I didn't have to have to graduate, but really wanted. So of course the school comes back saying that I am approved for 9.5 credits. So I could decide to keep the classes and pay for them out of pocket, or I could drop them and get my financial aid. So I dropped the only 2 classes I was actually interested in. I'm terribly sad about the whole thing, but at the same time it means I only have classes on Tuesday and Thursday, so I can work more and still have more time for homework.

It leaves me with mixed feelings.
